So why not? Plus, she’s already done the voice of Dorothy, so having her voice the Witch would be pretty ironic. At one point in one of them, Grey Griffin did a pretty good impression of the Wicked Witch of the West. Why Her? I distinctively remember watching a few videos of voice actors reading lines from various movies in the voices of different characters. Why Her? I think Kevin Michael Richardson as the Cowardly Lion was one of the first casting choices I came up with. Why Him? I’m guessing the reason I went with a British Tin Man was because Kelsey Grammer did the voice of the Tin Man in Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return. Previous Actors, Animated or Otherwise: Jack Haley, Don Messick, Hal Rayle, Danny Thomas, Rob Paulsen, Kelsey Grammer Other Choices: Jack McBrayer, Tom Hanks (I think Woody was inspired a little by the Scarecrow, at least when he runs) In truth, the voice I imagine Bill Farmer giving the Scarecrow would probably be a cross between the voices he uses for Goofy and Doc from The 7D. Why Him? I know Ray Bolger didn’t give the Scarecrow a Southern accent, but for some reason I just think it would fit the Scarecrow. But I decided to go with Chloe Grace Mortez, an actress I know the best for her voicing Darby in My Friends Tigger and Pooh (and she was also going to be in Bolt, but the executives rejected her). Why Her? We’re all so used to Judy Garland’s iconic performance that it’s hard to imagine anyone else doing the part, and if she were still around I’d definitely let her take on the role again if she wanted. Why? Well, recently I got the idea for an animated TV special based on The Wizard of Oz (both the book and the 1939 movie).
